How is colorectal cancer treated? I had Stage III Colon Cancer in the descending colon and was treated with surgery and chemotherapy. The did not use radiation treatment as my oncologist felt it was ineffective in treating my specific type of Colon Cancer - primarily due to the location. During surgery they removed the affected area of the descending colon and reattached the colon to the rectum. There are many ways to treat Colon Cancer, this is one way to treat it based on the type, location and size of the mass. |
